The father of James Zachary was John R. Zachary who was born in 1748 in Drysdale, Carolina County, Virginia John R died in Putnam, Georgia, USA on 2 Mar 1813, he was 65. The mother of James Zachary was Sarah Hay, who was Born in 1750 in Drysdale, Carolina County, Virginia, Sarah died in Georgia, USA in 1827, she was 77. James Zachary first married Mary Allen who was born about 1796 in Pennsylvania, USA. (EDIT: That does not seem to be correct, as indicated by the birthdates of the children listed for both wives. They had the following children: JANE C ZACHARY (~1814-~1888) EASTER (~1819-1909) PETER ALLEN (1822-1863) In 1802 when James Zachary was 20, he second married Sarah Haley, in Grainger, Tennessee, USA. Sarah was born in 1760. Sarah died in 1810, she was 50.
